Message From Bart Yasso
Welcome the ultimate running vacation or what I call a runcation. Most of you are like me escaping a cold climate to bask in the warm Caribbean sun. Pace yourself on those first few runs to acclimatize to the Caribbean heat and sun. We have an action packed week of fun activities planned for all. We have lots of free time to get to know each other as we sail to some of the best beaches in the world. My wife Laura will be on the trip to share some of her ultra running stories. Laura was a killer ultra runner in her day. My buddy and inspiration Sarah Reinertsen will be joining the cruise. Sarah will challenge us all to take our running to the next level. Sarah will be joined by her husband Brooke a miniature golfer extraordinaire. See you in the sun and don’t forget the sunscreen

Message from Sarah Reinertsen
Hello Cruise to Runners!
My name is Sarah Reinertsen, a runner, triathlete, and adventure lover. Some of you may have seen my story on the Hawaii Ironman, in Runner's World magazine or on the reality TV show, the Amazing Race. I suppose I try to keep the Amazing Race going by signing up for more races and events around the world, so I'm thrilled to kick off another year of adventure in 2012 on the Cruise to Run Caribbean! As my friend Bart Yasso always says, "Never underestimate where running can take you" and it's so true. Becoming a runner was an unlikely path for a girl like me with only one good leg - but running has profoundly changed my life and brought me to many different corners of the world. I have seen the most beautiful towns, trails or vistas while running - places you can't necessarily get to by boat or car. And if you run slow like me, you really get the time to take in the sights and sounds of a place. There is absolutely no better way to see the world than on foot.
The highlight of 2010 (other than getting married) was going on the Cruise to Run Alaska, running past totem poles, through majestic forest trails, and along the scenic coast lines of Alaska all the way to the Terry Fox statue in Victoria. It was a life changing trip and filled with good friends and memories. I'm counting down the days until the next Cruise to Run - this time in the Caribbean. I can't think of a better place to be in January, and I'm delighted to explore this corner of the world with all of you as we run and cruise through the tropical seas. I'm bringing my husband with me, generally he doesn't like to run unless he's chasing a soccer ball, but there's no way he's missing out on at least run/walking the great courses Jerry and Jody have organized for us in every port. I look forward to meeting all of you and your families soon. Safe travels and happy running!
